Best Affiliate Marketing Training For Beginners
Affiliate marketing is a way for websites or individuals to make money online.
You get paid commission (or percentage of) products and services that you recommend which results in a sale.
There are things you need to set up like a website and other strategies used to be successful at this and to create consistent sales – resulting in a steady flow of income.
(Ahhhh, every internet marketers dream)…
But we won’t dive too deep into how to get set up here because that’s what these courses are for.
To teach you.
Each has its own unique, effective way of doing so.
These beginner-friendly courses are ones that I have personally joined myself.
Some, I still actively use.
When it comes to learning affiliate marketing, or online business in general, you’re in good hands with each of the training’s listed below.
(If you know of any other excellent platforms – hit us up. We’re always on the lookout to learn new things. Plus, we’d love to hear from you!)
OK. Roll out the courses…
Wealthy Affiliate Review
Wealthy Affiliate or WA was my introduction to internet marketing 5 years ago.
I am still a member of this community and primarily use it to host some of my sites, keep in touch with a handful of other experienced affiliate marketers, and to keep up with anything new going on with the internet marketing world.
There’s plenty of information available for consumption and the main training is excellent for beginners.
Another plus for any beginner is the vast, diverse community.
People from all over the world of all languages and of all experience levels can be found among the membership there.
If you have a question, someone is usually around for immediate help. (You can post a question or jump into Live Chat).
I will urge, however, to try to not get too caught up in the community sides of things.
Use the community for help and guidance, but don’t use it as a social media platform like I see so many others do.
Spend your time going through the training, the live webinars, and on your business.
That’s just my two cents.
(If you decide to join, how you use your membership there is up to you).
What else is great is that things you need to get started are included with Premium membership there.
Tools and services like website hosting, a website builder, keyword tools, domain name buying service, all in the same spot.
It’s super convenient.
The only thing I would recommend investing in is a stronger keyword tool somewhere down the line. KWFinder is my current favorite.
Everything else you need is under one roof as a Premium member.
The last thing we’ll mention here is the Starter accounts – which are like a free trial with limited access.
You won’t have access to everything but enough access to determine if WA is a good fit for you.
As a “Starter”, you can participate in the first 10 lessons of the training and will be able to set up your very own website using a free domain name – at no cost.
Definitely worth looking in to for any newcomers…
In the end, I was able to reach some of the early goals I set for myself like to actually make money online, any amount.
I ended up making more than I thought was possible – and even had the opportunity to meet the owners of WA:
WA did that for me as a complete beginner.
Tools offered: Hosting, Community + Live Chat feature, Personal profile page, Keyword tool, Website builder, SiteContent to organize and write for single or multiple websites, Live webinars, (Awesome) technical support if anything goes wrong with your website, plus more.
The Training: As mentioned before the training is basic and beginner-friendly. Follow along, ask the right questions, stick with it, and you too will see results.
Here’s an example of what to expect from the first module you can try today at no cost as a Starter member:
Just about every lesson has a video + text combination. Each has specific tasks you need to complete for that lesson.
This simple feature leaves no room for confusion on what to do next before moving on to the next lesson.
I wish more training included this simple feature.

FIMP (First-Time Internet Marketing Project) Review
FIMP is affiliate marketing training but teaches other paths you can take in online business as well.
Early on in the lessons, or book (more on that below), you are introduced to 4 different paths to building a profitable internet business.
- A content-based business monetized through advertising
- A service-based business
- An eCommerce based business selling physical products
- A content-based business selling your own digital products
It’s a unique approach.
Even if you choose the affiliate marketing route at first (#1 above) you could easily maneuver to (#4) and sell your own digital products later.
It is quite refreshing to know you have options and are not confined to just one way of earning – forever.
As your skills develop you can employ another path resulting in more money.
FIMP gives you the knowledge and skill-set to do so.
Another thing I enjoy and don’t see emphasized enough is the mindset training put into the course.
It gives members a necessary foundation as things like work ethic and setting realistic goals are discussed.
Having the right mindset is a key part of building any profitable online business.
Again, this comes early on in the training.
FIMP also has an advanced course, called Internet Marketing Project or IMP.
I would only recommend IMP for experienced marketers or once you “graduate” from FIMP and your website begins producing money.
FIMP training has to be the most thorough, in my opinion.
Ian Pribyl, your instructor, goes deep into every category.
^^^ Glimpse into Ian’s flagship course, Internet Marketing Project
He doesn’t just show you how it’s done, he tells you why things are done and often shares the history of certain topics. (It’ll make more sense once on the inside).
Last thing, there’s also a book – From Nothing, available on Amazon.
If you’re unsure about joining the course, you can always start with the book.
You won’t feel as connected as you would in the course with the over-the-shoulder demonstrations and video lessons, but it’s a start.
Plus, the book has a lot of the same great info.
Ian’s humor and self-deprecating jokes will keep you entertained throughout but it’s also obvious that he knows his shit.
I’d say he eats this IM stuff for breakfast which is evident in his training.
Not a bad place and person to begin learning from…
Tools offered: Requires outside resources to get started like hosting and domain name. Ian will show you how to get started even with a $100 budget in your first year.
The Training: Basic to advanced training. Ian will help you grow your business with a long-term game plan and growth strategies. Strategies I’ve yet to see anywhere else (or that would cost $1,000’s elsewhere).
Click below to be taken to the FIMP registration page.
Remember you can always start with the book if unsure about joining.
Human Proof Method Review
Human Proof Method is probably my favorite course.
It’s not as in-depth as FIMP or as accommodating as Wealthy Affiliate.
But it’s easy to follow and straight-forward.
I didn’t bother with the community aspect (I believe you can find them on FB).
HPM can be accessed on a month by month basis ($49/mo last I checked) and has all of the info you need to build an affiliate marketing niche site.
I spent about 4 to 5 months total following these lessons and learning new stuff.
Once I got what I needed, I ended the subscription.
I know that if I need access I could just simply join again with no major commitment.
Some of the things I liked was their advanced material like “Outsourcing” and “Pinterest Traffic”, to name a couple.
Tools offered: Needs outside hosting and domain name.
The Training: Straight-forward. There are many different modules and some are taught by different instructors. Definitely qualified.
My only major gripe with this course would be how the audio quality would seem to vary depending on the lesson or instructor and their equipment.
The lessons were still audible but poor and it’s an unfortunate distraction at times.
Other than that the instructors (and HPD staff) do a great job of sharing tactics and things I’ve yet to see taught elsewhere.
The Human Proof Method course is taught on Teachable, a platform that allows creators to build courses. This doesn’t come at any extra cost to you but you may need to create a Teachable account to participate.
Project 24 Review
This is the only course I have yet to join.
But I still follow these guys quite closely through email and on YouTube.
The guys behind Project 24 appear to be in the trenches and are very knowledgable and passionate when it comes to affiliate marketing.
I even read somewhere that they “built a “war room” in our office to stay on top of any key algorithm updates, changes in the blogging and YouTube space, and more, all so we could keep you in the loop and informed on how they might affect you”…
Once you’ve had it, it’s easy to recognize when someone or a website offers quality training.
And they are constantly putting out new information regarding updates and tactics as it relates to affiliate marketing.
Since I haven’t joined this one myself, I’d like to share an awesome review instead of giving you an inside look and description of what to expect upon joining:
You can learn more about Income School’s Project 24.
How To Choose The Right Affiliate Marketing Course For You
There are many benefits of joining a premium course as opposed to trying to do everything on your own.
The purpose of joining any course should be to:
a) Follow a laid out blueprint or game planb) Get results
Any of the courses we share above will provide you with that.
If you’re still not sure or have another course in mind, do more research. Find other sources you can trust.
You should be comfortable in your decision and even excited to get started.
The places shared above are more than just affiliate marketing training.
They provide you with essential skills that can be used to do all sorts of things online.
Like selling your own product, doing freelancing work for individuals or bug companies, hell, you can even turn around and teach some of the things you learn in a course one day if that’s what you want to do.
How To Avoid Affiliate Marketing Scams
There are a few things we recommend keeping an eye out for when searching for different online business opportunities or even different affiliate marketing courses.
There are lots of scams out there, unfortunately.
Here’s what to look out for and ways to keep safe from online scams.
Unrealistic promises or guarantees.
I’ll give an example:
In the first example, we have $80k a week or $4,160,000 a year!
It’s a great attention grabber but other than that, there’s no real value or substance being offered here.
Just a cheesy quote and an unrealistic dollar amount for any beginner. Tempting, but no thanks.
It’s pretty much click bait to get you to click on their link. (Which I’m willing to bet leads you to some low-end crappy product).
I highly doubt the person who posted it makes $80k a year let alone a week with forex trading.
Here we have a 100% done-for-you, JUST 1-CLICK, and you will be on your way to fortunes.
It’s all passive. Buy this system for X amount of dollars and all of your financial troubles will be taken away.
Don’t fall for this crap.
This will likely lead to another low-quality product. And by likely I mean 100%.
If you here “100% done-for-you” or “earn money on autopilot” and their promising riches – it’s usually a scam.
These types of posts come from desperate people who take advantage of newcomers.
This is not how real income is created online.
Your online business should not be viewed as a cash grab.
How can “I” make tons of money? How can “I” fulfill my wants?
Instead, flip it around. Who can I help? And What products would make a difference in their lives?
This is a completely different way of approaching things. And one that will make all the difference as you move forward with your affiliate marketing business.
I’d recommend any of the above courses to a friend or family member, without hesitation, and have!
Each of these affiliate marketing training has it’s own unique teaching style and way of doing things.
But there all taught by experienced people.
Having great training isn’t enough.
If you want to win at this “make money online” thing and actually earn a steady income, be ready to put the work in.
Action is key.
